CAMRA Champion Barley Wine Strong Old Ale of Britain 2014

Kinver Over the Edge has been crowned the gold medal winner of  the Barley Wine and Strong Old Ale category at the GB National Winter Ales Festival (NWAF) 2014

A panel of beer writers, members of the licensed trade and CAMRA members judged the competition.
Barley wine (or barleywine) is a style of strong ale developed as part of a war effort, to quench the British aristocracy's thirst for strong drinks during the war between the UK and France in the later part of the 18th century,  when their favourite tipple of vintage claret from Bordeaux was difficult to obtain.

Barley wine was exclusive to the aristocracy and the newly rich industrialist founders of the Industrial Revolution in England.
200 years later,  Over the Edge,  is a favourite tipple to be enjoyed by all.

Available on draught and in bottles from selected outlets

Over the Edge is entered into the GBBF final to be held in Olympia 12th to 16th August 2014
